Custom Orthotics

About Custom Orthotics:

The primary goal of custom foot orthotics is to help reduce unnecessary stress and strain on your feet, toes, ankles, knees and lower back. They accomplish this by altering the biomechanics of our lower limb during walking, running, jumping, golfing, etc.

During an orthotic assessment Dr. Dynes will perform a detailed biomechanical exam and gait analysis. This will allows him to determine if orthotics are the right therapy for you. If you are a candidate for orthotics the next step is taking a precise cast of your foot and making the necessary changes so your custom orthotic can be built.

How do Orthotics Work?

A custom orthotic is made to fit the unique shape and function of your feet. Based on your physical examination modifications are made to correct specific biomechanical issues identified with your feet and gait.

As we move, the custom orthotic stimulates pressure, vibration, and stretch receptors in our feet. This stimulation sends signals to the brain that help to unconsciously control the positioning of our feet. This improves the efficiency of the muscles throughout our legs and back, and can naturally correct biomechanical problems.

Common Conditions:

  • Achillies Tendonosis
